COURTSHIP, THE LEEWAY TO MARRIAGE - Lanre Olagbaju (@lanreolagbaju)

"AS IS" is a legal term used to disclaim some implied warranties for an item being sold. "As is" denotes that the seller is selling, and the buyer is buying an item in whatever condition it presently exists, and that the buyer is accepting the item "with all faults", whether or not immediately apparent. It simply implies that buyer should take the time to examine the item before accepting it, or obtain expert advice.
Dear single, whoever you choose and pick as your partner is AS IS but there's a leeway between when you meet this person and when you actually marry him/her..this leeway is called COURTSHIP. Not all courtships have to end up in marriage, courtship is a time to learn about the person, know if the things they offer are the things you want, know if your values are the same, know if your outlooks of the future are in sync or parallel lines...something as simple as "giving" can be an issue after you get married if you have different and irreconcilable perspectives about it. Courtship is the time you have to consider the "purchase" before sealing the deal.
You have to obtain "expert advice" too and that talks about God...the One that knows the end from the beginning. Ask God to reveal things to you, ask him to help you in making the right choice.
Don't be like the guy that was only concerned about having leather seats in his car, without caring much for the state of the engine, tyres, transmission, and the stuffs that actually make a car mobile. Don't be fooled by looks, don't be fooled by things that don't really matter in marriage...don't spend the time for courtship, sleeping with each other. It clouds your better judgement and displaces your priorities.
Proverbs 31:30 says "Charm is deceitful and beauty fades; but a woman who fears the LORD will be praised"
Let me tweak this verse a little, the way it applies to men "Gifts can be deceitful, Swagger fades; but a guy that fears the LORD will make you a happy woman".
There are still some singles doing it right... look before you leap, you will not "shi-marry" in Jesus' name
