_It is advisable that you prayerfully and meditatively read the text first_  *CHECK THE SPREAD OF SIN* *TEXT:* LEVITICUS 15:1-18._*KEY VERSE* "And when he that hath an issue is cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean" (LEVITICUS 15:13)._  On 17th November, 2019, a disease called Covid-19 broke out in China and became a global pandemic, which infected and killed several thousands of people. It was a contagious disease which could only be prevented by maintaining physical distancing between individuals, regular washing of hands and the use of nose masks. Anyone who realised that he had had contact with an infected person was to go for quarantine for about 14 days, to determine if he had been infected or not. The text of today also deals with laws concerning ceremonial cleansing from defilement arising from bodily emissions and any other unhygienic condition. Whoever had bodily emission considered to be unclean could not be touched, else, the person that touched him became unclean too. Part of the purification rites involved washing oneself and clothes in running water and staying away from the camp for seven days. This would prevent the defilement from spreading. While certain ceremonial uncleanness remained only till evening and was terminated by bathing, people with other types might have to remain outside the camp even after healing for the next seven days to ensure full recovery, after which they would then carry out cleansing rites involving sin offering and a burnt offering. In Christendom, nothing could be more defiling and contagious than sin. It disqualifies a person from being in the congregation of saints. Believers are warned not to toy with sin or be yoked unequally with unbelievers. They should, constantly examine themselves and run away from every appearance of evil while sinners and backsliders should seek pardon and cleansing in the blood of Jesus through genuine repentance and restitution. *THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* The only way to stop the spread of sin is not to sin.  *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR* NUMBERS 29-30. *MEDITATION* The illustrations of sin under the Law *1. The nature of sin*Even though we are no longer under the Law, the information foreshadows uncleanness in the New Testament. It must be important to God for some chapters to be devoted to it. Jesus made it clear that physical washing, though important, is not the real message of the Bible, Matthew 15:19,20, Colossians 2:20,21. a. Sin is moral uncleanness, vv2,3.b. Sin is contagious. Even if you commit it alone, it has defiling effect on the others, especially those who see, read or hear what you have done, v4.c. One of the major manifestation of sin is the flesh even though the source is from the heart, vv2,3, Matthew 15:19,20.d. Every natural man has "issue" in them and when squeezed, issues out sin through the body, vv2,3. The human flesh or the body is the outlet of sin.e. Since turns your bed of rest to a platform of guilty and unrest, v4. All unrest today can be traced to sin.f. You cannot be sitting comfortably with or befriending defiled persons and not by and large partake of their sins, v6, Psalm 1:1.g. Touching or toying with sin or objects of sin will eventually land you in sin. Think of pornography!, vv7,10, 2 Corinthians 6:17. "Touch not the unclean thing". " Flee from every appearance of sin"h. Just as we have defiled hearts, conscience and body, we also have defiled garments. Mind your dressing and garments, vv5, 17.I. Sin is a shameful thing as spitting in someone's face, v8.*2. Solutions to sin problem*a. There is no solution to sin problem other than sin offering (Christ death on Calvary) and washing by the Living (running) water, Who is Christ Himself, vv6,7,13, John 10:14. "Without shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin".Hebrews 9:22.b. Objects of sin must be totally destroyed or separated from, v12.c. A defiled person must separate themselves from temple services until there is a clear witness of the Holy Spirit on full cleansing and forgiveness, vv13,14. *Prayer points*Praise God for the blood of Jesus that can clean from every sinWash me inside out by the blood of the Lamb and make me holyLord, give me hatred that abhors sins in the heart and run from themLord, use the retreat to visit every participant and do a deeper cleansing in all *HYMN* Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
