"So teach us to number our days that we may gain
a heart of wisdom" (Psalms 90:12, KJV).
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR
Many years ago, the brother of Alfred Nobel died in Stockholm. But newspapers got the name wrong, concluding it was Alfred Nobel himself who had died. They wrote his obituary which he read the next day. In Noble's premature obituary, he was remembered primarily for inventingdynamite which had been responsible for the deaths of countless
human beings in wars and conflicts around the world.
This obituary had such a shocking effect on Nobel that he immediately began rearranging his entire life to change his legacy
and assure that his obituary when it was ultimately written, would be completely different. To this end, he established the NoblePrizes, based on his great fortune, which are today the highest awards that can be attained in the worlds of literature, medicine, science, economics, Peace and chemistry. By thinking clearly
Present actions and his ultimate memory. He rewrote his own Obituary.
Today, we are encouraged by God's word to know that we have but short time to live here on earth and as a result require a lot ofwisdom to make it count. If we are careless about the legacy we will leave behind, we have a tendency to live worthless lives. But thedesire to leave good footprints in the sands of time will make us
adjust our lifestyle and invest in the betterment of our world.
Our daily actions are draft copies of what shall be said of us when we are gone to the great beyond.
Lord, please help me to rearrange my life as to be able to leave a worthwhile legacy.
