Workers Day/International Labour Day TOPIC: WHEN GOD SAYS 'THANK YOU!' Read: Luke 19:12-27  12 Therefore He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. 13 So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, b and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’ 14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’  15 “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16 Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’ 17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’ 18 And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’ 19 Likewise he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities.’  20 “Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief. 21 For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ 22 And he said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow.   23 Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’  24 “And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.’ 25 (But they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas.’) 26 ‘For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.  27 But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me.’ ”    MEMORISE: For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. (Hebrews 6v12). EXPOSITIONThe idea of God saying 'Thank you' to man sounds seemingly awkward and unbelievable, if not outright impossible to many of us mortals. But, just as the writer of the Epistle to the Hebrews clearly says in Hebrews 6v10, God does not forget our good deeds! Furthermore, the Lord Jesus Christ established this cheering phenomenon in His many discourses with His early followers, just as read in our devotional scripture for today. This goes along with every portion of the New Testament where He promises rewards (Matt.10v32-44,20v1-16,25v31-46,Mk.10v27-31;Rev.2&3,22v11,12). Sometimes we feel used, abandoned, and utterly discouraged about our so many sacrifices for fellow brethren and the Kingdom of God's sake, just about the same as outlined by Apostle Paul in 2 CORINTHIANS 6v3-10, among many other examples. This obviously was responsible for the seeming strange attuide of the Unprofitable Servant (Lk.19v20,21). Some have prematurely and tragically lost spouses, jobs promotions and other benefits, for non-compromise. A song writer put it this way: "Oft our cherished plans have failed, Disappointments have prevailed; And we've wandered in the darkness, Heavy hearted and alone; But we are trusting in the Lord and According to his word: We will understand it better, By and By..." In spite all of these, God has promised a day of saying 'Thank you' to as many as endure to the end. Pastor Roland Buck (1918-1979), the Presiding Minister of Central Assembly of God Christian Life Center, Boise, Idaho,USA, once suddenly encountered God through the angel of God who told him: "Toil on! Nor deem, though sore it be; if you would My disciple be; The day of rest will dawn for you; Wait meekly and murmur not. Oh wait, meekly wait and murmur not... (CAC HUB 775). May you live godly in this life to receive your "Thank you" from the Lord at the end. Amen. PRAYER POINTS:1. Thank You, God the Father, for that day of divine appreciation, coming soon.2. Count me worthy, O Lord, to hear You say, "Welcome and well done, you profitable and faithful servant. Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world (Matt.25:34).3. Help your field men in this world, Holy Father, to be faithful to their callings for the sake of the ultimate reward, in the name of Jesus.  EXTRA READING FOR TODAY:1 Samuel 18:4-20:13 Luke 20:6-20:27 Author: CAC WorldwideRemain blessed!
