_It is advisable that you prayerfully and meditatively read the text first_  *IS YOUR NAME THERE?* *TEXT:* 1 CHRONICLES 2:34-55._*KEY VERSE* "Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel [were], Mesha his firstborn, which was the father of Ziph; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron" (1 CHRONICLES 2:42)._  "Abraham begat lsaac, Isaac begat Jacob and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren" (Matthew 1:2); thus, the Bible began the genealogy of our Lord Jesus Christ. A parallel passage traced the genealogy to "Adam which was the son of God" (Luke 3:23-38). The records of genealogy played vital roles in Israel. As a nation, it helped them to identify true Israelites and those whose genealogy could not be ascertained were denied the privileges of service. God's promise to Abraham that his seed shall be as "the stars of heaven", came to pass. Israel was also a chosen nation, separated unto God. So, in our text, we see the records of the names of some of the children of Judah. Judah was particularly significant because through his lineage came David and Christ. These records bear a testimony of God's faithfulness in keeping His word. Records keeping is very important. And that is why God often instructs His servants "...what thou seest, write in a book" (Revelation 1:11). The children of Israel were very good records keepers. They carefully kept and preserved their genealogies. And yet, there is another "Book of genealogy". This one is not kept by Israel nor by any man. There in that Book are the names of "the redeemed... the ransomed of the LORD". This "Book of genealogy" is so important that any person whose name is not found therein shall be cast into the Lake of fire. Whatever great message one is used of God to preach, whatever charitable deeds, signs or wonders; the greatest of them all is that one's name is written in that Book of Life. Is your name there? Have you repented? Have you made Jesus Christ your Lord and Saviour? If not, you have to repent of your sins, confess and forsake them for your name to enter the Book. *THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* Make sure your name is in God's Book of genealogy of the redeemed.  *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR* LUKE 20-21. *MEDITATION* An important information from the genealogy *1. No race is superior over another*Correct analysis and interpretation of accurate data is germane to machine learning and technological advancement. Similarly, a correct analysis of the genealogy in the Scripture is meant to drive home some useful moral lessons for mankind.a. The text dealt with the genealogy of Judah from where our Lord came from.b. One of the great fathers had no son but daughters, v34.c. He eventually gave his daughter to his servant who was an Egyptian, v34.d. This Egyptian became a great grandfather in the Judah's household, vv35-41.e. Can the Jews actually boast of being a superior race when there is a mix up of other nationals in their race?f. The implication of this is that the boastings of superiority of a race over others is a function of pride and ignorance because no race can claim exclusiveness of other races if the genealogy is well traced.g. God deliberately plan it that way so that humans can learn the spirit of love and coexistence that is void of pride and superiority complex.*2. The reality of salvation*There is a carryover consequence of true salvation.a. In the New Testament Church, the idea of superiority of a race over another is satanic and ungodly. In fact, we are all one in Christ, Galatians 3:28.b. One of the things the blood of Jesus cleanses from human nature at salvation is pride, racial superiority or inferiority complexes.c. A so-called believer in Christ, who is still racially, ethnically or tribally biased or bigoted cannot claim to have their names in the Book of life which is meant for heavenly citizens. Christians much show new creature by their love for people of other ethnicities, tribes and races.d. This wrong attitude made Jonah to rebel against the command of God to preach to Nineveh.e. This same wrong attitude temporarily disqualified the 12 disciples from preaching the gospel to the Gentiles and Samaritans because Jesus will not send you to preach to a people you hate, Matthew 10:5.f. Subtle tribalism in the heart diminishes your usefulness in ministry and may eventually hinder you from entering heaven where only the purified can enter. *Q* Is your name in the Book of life? *Prayer points*Prayer that God will make you a new creation indeed with a loving disposition towards all tribes and racesHoly Spirit, cleanse my heart of all traces of tribalism and superiority complex by the blood of JesusLord, give all your children across the globe grace to live out the true Christian character of love to other peoplesJesus, come and reign in my community and let your peace reign *HYMN* My name is there
